Position Overview

We are looking for a talented Automation and Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing assembly line frameworks and specifications, developing PLC and HMI programs for automated systems, and ensuring seamless integration of machinery and assembly lines into our digital manufacturing execution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop assembly line architecture and specifications.
  • Create specifications for automated machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to design and implement assembly lines, including automated systems.
  • Interpret mechanical design documents to determine electrical control requirements.
  • Develop PLC and HMI programming for automated systems.
  • Integrate machinery and assembly lines into our manufacturing information systems.
  • Conduct training sessions on equipment design, maintenance, and troubleshooting for various customer skill levels.
  • Support existing equipment designs and address production challenges at various locations.
  • Stay informed about the latest equipment technologies and apply this knowledge to develop innovative solutions.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance internal industrial processes.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronic Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in assembly line design and automation within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI system design.
  • Familiarity with vision systems and motion control systems.
  • Knowledge of various communication protocols.
  • Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic understanding of UL Standards and National Electric Code.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
  • A self-motivated approach with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
