Essential Qualifications:

- A background as an industrial electrician or a graduate from a technical school with experience in electrical and control systems.

- Over 5 years of experience in PLC, HMI, and VFD programming.

- At least 4 years of experience with Rockwell or Schneider automation products.

- Proven skills in computer networking.

- Strong knowledge of electrical standards.

- Familiarity with power distribution systems within a manufacturing context.

- Exceptional technical skills in both mechanical and electrical domains.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Control Systems Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining the operational efficiency of automated systems at the facility. Your daily responsibilities will encompass troubleshooting and repairing control systems, reducing downtime, collaborating with engineering teams to optimize system layouts, and performing routine preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.

  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot plant control systems and equipment.
  • Support the engineering team by assisting with automation system troubleshooting and resolution activities.
  • Evaluate existing plant systems and provide recommendations to enhance reliability.
  • Assist production, contractors, and maintenance personnel with repairs and reliability initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot plant process control systems.
  • Identify and select potential vendors, obtaining quotes for equipment and services.
  • Create and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Train machine operators on plant process control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical reports to understand electrical equipment specifications.
  • Supervise equipment manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and start-up as required.
  • Assist in the design of control systems, including user interfaces, tag schemes, automation, alarm logic, logging, and data collection, involving PLC and HMI programming.
