A rapidly-growing non-profit organization with a commitment to fulfilling a meaningful mission of serving the community is currently in search of a skilled and experienced Controller/CFO who is passionate about non-profit work and aims to use his/her talent for a good cause.

In this role, you'll provide financial leadership, managing budgeting and forecasting, departmental financial analysis, and financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
  3. Regularly prepare and present financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  4. Coordinate all audit activity and act as a liaison with all outside audit firms.
  5. Implement financial management strategies and liaise with the board’s finance committee.
  6. Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites.
  7. Efficiently manage financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
  8. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
  9. Assess programmatic investments and capital expenditures, maximizing return on invested funds.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
  2. 5+ years of proven experience in a Controller or CFO position, within a non-profit organization.
  3. Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  4. Understanding of non-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  5. Incredible attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  6. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
