Community Initiatives


Position: Vice President Veteran Services, Community Initiatives

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Community Initiatives



Job Summary


Provide oversight of the programmatic operations for the Community Initiatives Priority Veteran program.

Work closely with and supervise Directors to establish protocols, help set and achieve performance goals,

provide fiscal oversight and monitor personnel performance.


Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all agency funding including local, state, and federal, and CARF regulations and guidelines

  • Direct and oversee regional program operations to meet budget and other financial goals in Alabama and Florida

Oversee outcomes of all program activities to ensure objectives are met by Program Directors and Director of Veteran Care

  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of strategic plan for AL and FL programs
  • Direct short-term and long-range planning and problem-solving to support program goals
  • Monitor performance goals and program certifications/accreditations
  • Direct execution of operating policies to support overall department and agency program policies

and objectives

Works closely with SVP ensuring timely communication of pertinent information

Work with CI team to analyze budgets and spending against budgets

Support VP of Development and Compliance in completing grant applications

Work closely with Director of Compliance to ensure standards are being met

  • Monitor personnel performance of AL and FL Priority Veteran programs
  • Represent the department in community meetings and campaign speaking engagements as needed

Knowledge of all PV services, standards, and requirements

Oversee Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan for PV services

  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking and presentation skills

Solid working knowledge of human services and grants management and programs

Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and internal and external constituencies

Computer proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook applications

Organized, self- motivated and goal oriented


Education/Experience

Master’s Degree in social service related field (MSW, MS etc.) preferred

Licensed Preferred

Minimum 10 years of management-level experience in a human services field

Proven experience of effective management of personnel and programs

Grant management experience preferred



Requirements:

Valid Alabama driver’s license & reliable transportation

Insurable under UWCA liability policy

Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law

Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test

Normal office environment with occasional after-hours

Travel in and out of state to cover territory
