Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives to drive Health & Safety performance.
  • Drive culture, compliance, education, and training of employees at all levels on regulatory requirements to improve the Safety Culture.
  • Work with the Medical Department on cases, including worker’s comp and return to work fitness for duty.
  • Lead and assist in incident investigations or review incidents for thoroughness.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor other members of Health & Safety as needed.
  • Create alignment and consistency between units for Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
  • Make recommendations on Health & Safety practices.
  • Periodically perform audits in the field.
  • Perform applicable data mining and suggest ideas for areas of concern.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health or related science or engineering field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Certified Safety Professional preferred but not required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company as well as external regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills and experience implementing effective Health & Safety programs / improvements
