Key Responsibilities- Repair, replace, and troubleshoot electrical systems on coal mining equipment, with a focus on ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to calibrate, service, repair, or install electronic devices and build control panels.
- Run tests, isolate problems, and replace faulty sections of wiring.
- Work within MSHA-specified guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to identify wires by color.
- Ability to work in various positions, including working in small spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and assembly prints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prior experience working with high voltage systems and amps is preferred.
Working conditions are normal for a shop environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and steel-toe boots.
