Position Details:

Department: Packaging
Title: Pharmaceutical Packaging Specialist
Function: Operations
Shift: Rotating shifts (1st/2nd) bi-weekly, with straight 3rd shift available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate packaging machinery (including tablet fillers, thermoforms, labelers, and case packers) safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
  • Verify the accuracy of products and components for packaging.
  • Supply machinery with necessary components and products, with lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.
  • Conduct system checks on relevant equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance, changeovers, setups, and troubleshooting of packaging machinery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and inspect packaging equipment.
  • Document all packing and cleaning activities accurately in logbooks and electronic systems.
  • Execute quality inspections and in-process testing (including torque, seal integrity, and appearance).
  • Rework packages according to SOPs to address any discrepancies.
  • Participate in regular safety and GMP meetings.
  • Share expertise with colleagues for training purposes.
  • Collaborate effectively in teams to meet production demands.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report on line performance and assist in resolving production issues.
  • Flexibility to work off shifts, weekends, and alternative schedules as needed.
  • Conduct activities in alignment with company values and compliance standards.
  • Complete all required training on ethics and compliance policies.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, site SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Support inspections from internal, external, and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in the investigation and resolution of product quality issues.
Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required.

Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency.

Preferred Experience:
At least one year of experience in a production setting, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
Familiarity with cGMP standards.
