Qualifications for Senior Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, along with at least six years of experience in Quality Engineering, ideally within the Aerospace sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement, with a proven ability to lead and facilitate these processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to deliver technical presentations effectively.
  • Solid understanding of industry standards such as AS9100D, AS9102, ASME Y14.5 for Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ANSI Z540/ISO 17025 for Calibration.
  • Familiarity with Wire and Harnessing schematics, assembly procedures, and inspection methods in line with IPC/WHMA-A-620 is highly advantageous.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.


Key Responsibilities for Senior Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • Quality Planning: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive Quality Plans for complex projects. This includes developing strategies for receiving inspections, assembly and testing inspections, first article inspections, production tracking, contamination control, and configuration management, often requiring customer approval.
  • Program Support: Offer technical Quality support to various departments including assembly, testing, suppliers, and customers. This involves reviewing and approving assembly and testing procedures, quality management systems, and engineering drawings, applying creative problem-solving skills, and effectively communicating technical information.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure that all quality-related contractual obligations are met for complex programs. This includes coordinating customer and regulatory audits and ensuring that contract requirements are communicated and adhered to by suppliers and internal teams.
  • Process and Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at improving processes and products using tools like 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping. This includes conducting studies on product and process improvements and developing new systems and procedures.
  • Training: Provide training on Quality Management System requirements and program-specific quality standards. Offer technical guidance and training in areas such as gauge variation, designed experiments, and root cause corrective action to Quality Assurance technicians and engineers.
  • Failure Analysis and Corrective Action: Conduct detailed failure analyses to identify root causes and develop comprehensive corrective action plans. This role requires strong organizational, technical, analytical, and communication skills to resolve complex issues.
