Position Overview:

Lockheed Martin Corporation is in search of a Senior Procurement Quality Engineer to oversee the execution of tasks and provide quality assurance to suppliers involved in the Rotary and Tactical Training Solutions (RTATS) programs within the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Training and Logistics (TLS) market segment.


Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be expected to work flexible hours and may require both domestic and international travel to support supplier activities and program acceptance.

  • Conduct testing on advanced aircraft flight simulators, maintenance trainers, logistics systems, and various training platforms.
  • Lead multiple subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to project schedules, budget constraints, and technical specifications.
  • Perform scheduled product inspections, first article evaluations, and product line validations at supplier facilities.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions related to Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address program requirements and align with customer needs and program management activities.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with Lockheed Martin's quality standards and provide detailed weekly reports.
  • Act as a technical liaison for quality engineering and supplier management issues.
  • Ensure that supplier contract requirements are effectively communicated and verified, maintaining daily collaboration with suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Proven ability to identify and document quality deficiencies in suppliers, ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and mechanical/electrical inspection methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of special processes and strong skills in managing supplier relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support various supplier quality engineering activities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with suppliers, quality program management, engineering teams, and government representatives.
  • Experience in aviation, particularly as a former pilot or in aircraft avionics and visual systems.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
  • Experience with source inspections, surveillance activities, and physical configuration audits at supplier locations.
  • Familiarity with government customer interactions and managing major subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of SAP and P2P business systems.

Security Clearance Requirement:

This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.


Work Environment:

The selected individual will have a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work with time spent at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Specific weekly schedules will be discussed during the hiring process.
