Position Summary: This role will manage the daily preparation, monitoring and analysis of risk management reporting for Refined Products and as backup for Crude.


Key Responsibilities:


Risk Control

  • Manage the daily preparation, monitoring, and analysis of risk management reporting; this includes, but is not limited to: daily trade reporting, open position, mark-to-market, and price reporting
  • Review, analyze, interpret and provide daily exposure and mark to market P&L reporting and verification
  • Manage forward curve upload process
  • Create/develop reports/logical data models for improved/enhanced reporting
  • Articulate factors driving day-to-day P&L changes
  • Work closely with Traders to quantify and explain the sources of risk in their portfolios
  • Contribute to the reporting of Trading Result/ Position to senior management.
  • Work closely with Accounting team to provide month-end reconciliation between Risk vs Accounting P/L numbers
  • Support the implementation of in-house ETRM system in particular the MTM/P&L module
  • Become go-to person for traders, originators, accounting staff, and management to answer questions about portfolio positions, changes, and risk factors


Trade Compliance

  • Monitor risk limits, and ensure delegation-of-authorities are in compliance
  • Monitor and track trade volumes against transactional risk limits
  • Where necessary, advise stakeholders on approved trading products and locations
  • Coordinate with Compliance Director to ensure compliance requirements are met


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, economics/finance/business/mathematics or quantitative discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Risk experience preferred,
  • Understanding of refined product and crude markets and trading storage and transportation beneficial
  • Refined Products, Renewables experience a plus
  • Understanding of energy commodity price decomposition (fixed, basis, index)
  • Risk report creation/development (Excel-based) and working knowledge of deal capture/ETRM systems
  • Proficient Excel skills (VBA, SQL, Python, R a plus)
  • Attention to detail with the ability to provide accurate and timely work product
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines
  • Responsive to requests and e-mails
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High levels of flexibility with regard working hours
  • Good interpersonal skills
