Job Title: Sr. Associate, Product Management

Location: Richmond, Virginia (Hybrid On-Site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive impactful product decisions? As a Senior Associate, Product Management on our Core Data team, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our data products and platforms. Your work will involve breaking down complex business needs into actionable features and user stories, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring seamless product delivery. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, to explore new technical approaches and solve customer pain points. Your efforts will directly impact the data user community by providing insights, troubleshooting data-related issues, and continuously improving our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discovery & Research: Apply discovery and research techniques to identify internal customer pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Product Backlog Management: Break down business epics into features and further into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritization & Troubleshooting: Drive day-to-day prioritization of work, troubleshoot reported issues, and oversee releases to ensure smooth product delivery.
  • Technical Exploration: Evaluate and explore new technical approaches to address customer needs effectively.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to derive insights that drive the development of new product features.
  • User Community Support: Research and troubleshoot data-related issues raised by the data user communities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Intellectually Curious: Naturally inquisitive, you seek to understand the 'why' behind challenges and thrive in ambiguity, always eager to learn and tackle new challenges.
  • Communicator & Influencer: You excel at communicating complex ideas clearly and concisely, rallying your team around shared goals and priorities.
  • Action-Oriented Do-er: Resourceful and capable of overcoming obstacles to achieve your objectives, with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Passionate & Customer-Focused: Dedicated to understanding and meeting customer needs, bringing people together to build and ship impactful products.
  • Lifelong Learner: Strong desire to learn new technologies and approaches, and the ability to ask for help to grow your skills.
  • Team Player: Enjoy collaborating with diverse teams, prioritizing collective success over individual accomplishments, and fostering long-lasting relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
  • At least 1 year of product management experience, or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience translating business strategy or analysis into consumer-facing digital products.
  • 1+ years of experience working on data products and platforms powering digital experiences.
  • 1+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams as a product owner in an agile development process.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern data technology (e.g., AWS, Kafka, Snowflake).
