The Lead Caregiver plays a pivotal role in overseeing a team of Care Managers during their shifts. This position ensures that high-quality care and services are consistently delivered and documented, in accordance with each resident's personalized Service Plan (ISP) and Sunrise policies. The Lead Caregiver sets a standard of excellence in all responsibilities and may work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
Full Time, Night Shift
  • Provide supervisory support by managing attendance, addressing call-offs, and responding to shift requests.
  • Assist team members in delivering Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care, including personal hygiene, grooming, and escorting residents to meals and activities.
  • Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programs and daily activities.
  • Support meal service in the dining area, ensuring hospitality standards are met.
  • Document care and services accurately, reviewing team documentation throughout the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with timekeeping and meal/rest period policies.
  • Prepare for shifts by organizing resident assignments and distributing daily task sheets.
  • Participate in crossover meetings to share essential information with other Lead Care Managers.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Report incidents promptly and assist in the development of updated ISPs.
  • Contribute to team performance reviews by providing constructive feedback.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with team members, residents, and families.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Medication Management Certificate required, with ongoing training as necessary.
  • Previous experience in senior care is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
