Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation through continuous improvements in processes, systems and policies.
  • Own vendor relationships. Work with account managers to ensure our technology investment is optimized.
  • Lead and Manager develop technology roadmaps.
  • Provide Senior level of support to junior team members including train, encourage and help junior team members grow their skills.
  • Lead service incident and problem resolution efforts to support entrusted applications/products.
  • Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as system design or maintenance.
  • Consult with engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, including security, backup, and redundant strategies.
  • Establish and maintain data in a Knowledge Management toolset to facilitate quicker diagnosis and resolution for future Incidents.
  • Establish or enhance systems automation using Group Policy, scripting or tooling wherever possible.
  • Consult with development teams to provide a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating the Solution and its interfaces.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) within own discipline/specialty area; basic knowledge of other disciplines/specialty areas.
  • Evaluate new technologies to solve problems as needed, and also play a significant role in architectural direction.
  • Analyze fault-tolerance and high availability issues, performance and scale challenges, and solve them.
  • Solve challenging technical problems related to security, parallel and distributed systems, programming, resource management, large-scale system maintenance, and more.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation 24x7 support schedule as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in computer science or other applicable technical certifications
  • 3+ years working as a Systems Engineer
  • 3+ years experience and tactical knowledge in Azure, Office 365, Cisco UCS, OnBase, Tableau, OKTA, Netscaler, Citrix Hybrid Cloud, Nutanix, Nimble, Cohesity, Vmware, MoveIT, Card Wizard, Windows Server 2016-Current, PowerShell, RHEL 8.
  • 3+ years cloud IaaS management.experience
  • Skillful using technical tools (i.e., Visio) to create detailed documentation and diagrams.
  • Expert knowledge using Group Policy and PowerShell to automate processes.
  • In collaboration with Systems Engineering Manager and Team Lead, updates servers and configures hardware and virtual machines (VM), applications, peripherals, services, networking, and storage to ensure business continuity and HA.
