Reporting to the SVP, the Facilities Management Senior Director will work with the FM and West Region Operations leadership team to create and implement a scalable, profitable, high-touch, highly skilled and client-focused facility management offering. The goal of this role is to assess our current client base and offering, strategize on opportunities to increase value to our clients, and partner with sales and marketing to grow in strategic areas. This role will partner with Operations in the West Region to maximize revenue and profitability in various services such as mobile technicians, painting services, project management work, staff augmentation, and Integrated Facility Management client teams. Sr. Director- WRFM will collaborate with leadership on strategic programs, platforms, client relationships, people development/employee engagement, and the business discipline that will deliver year over year revenue and margin growth. Additionally, the role will:

  • Oversee and engage as a key client relationship manager on local key accounts, driving client satisfaction and value
  • Support development of a world-class safety culture, lowering TRIR while increasing employee engagement in all safety programs. Working with EHS the Sr Director will track, report, and review near misses, corrective actions, focusing on Behavior Based Safety.
  • Assess the current state of Flagship’s West Region business -- mobile business, paint, staff augmentation, FM – and partner in development with the SVP – FM and West Region Ops VP the plan to achieve double digit growth across the region, growing into new geographies starting in 2025.
  • Execute the strategic and tactical plan to grow the mobile and paint business: automation, capabilities, training, markets, vehicles, staffing.
  • Work with the IFM leaders to develop revenue and margin targets, operating costs, evaluating investments in people, technology, and M&A that will fuel growth
  • Working with the Sales & Marketing team, support new business pursuits, account renewals and extensions, develop IFM marketing materials, engage with IFM related associations as FlagShip’s representative (e.g. IFMA)
  • Collaborate with the IFM leaders to develop the “FlagShip Way” for managing facilities in a safe, compliant, reliable, client-focused manner.
  • Responsible for Account Delivery, managing account leaders (actively engaged with key clients and driving operational excellence, achievement of KPI targets, account growth, and revenue/margin targets.
  • Contribute to an Account Management Platform (bringing accounts together, sharing best practices, driving improvement, creating friendly competition, developing talent)


  • CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT: Drive a continual improvement program across the sites we manage – Safety, CMMS, performance dashboards, client satisfaction improved reporting, structured people and client development, planning and scheduling, and full ownership for all Flagship services (janitorial and IFM)
  • Account Management / Governance: Maintain consistent governance structures across West Region client accounts while considering specific contractual requirements, driving increased client engagement and effective handling of escalations.
  • PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: Create a rigorous people development program – training at all levels – to attract, retain, and advance a diverse workforce. (Reward performance, Talent reviews, development plans, career roadmaps)
  • Technology: support development and deployment of new technology investments (CMMS) that will support growth of our mobile and account-based clients

Essential Functions

  1. Facilitates resources – people, technology, materials – to support the West Region client base.
  2. Collaborates with IFM leadership to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
  3. Motivates and leads a high-performance, diverse team; attracts, recruits, retains, and develops talent required to deliver services to the client.
  4. Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment, reflecting FlagShip’s core values.
  5. Works closely with FM leadership to develop company-wide programs that will drive growth.
  6. Participates in administering company policies, directing, and coordinating all activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  7. Manages policy in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and performance measures.
  8. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  9. Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  10. Conducts job-site visits/inspections as necessary to ensure company quality standards are maintained.
  11. Evaluates the performance of those employees reporting to him/her at least semi-annually based on the standards of performance included in the position description and discusses the evaluation with the employee.
  12. Attends the orientation meeting with new clients and the sales representative to ensure the customer and FlagShip mutually understand and agree to the scope, service levels, and costs for the services to be provided.
  13. Meets with the client, ideally in person, on a regular basis to ensure the client’s needs are being met, and to solicit additional work outside the contract.
  14. Works with Sales & Marketing to pursue new business, renew and/or extend existing business.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Specific experience leading, developing, and growing an FM business with a reasonable understanding of building and engineering systems.
  2. Broad experience in FM across multiple asset types and industries.
  3. Broad business acumen: financial, people management, industry expertise, operational experience, communicating up-down-across the business.
  4. Must have excellent internal and external client service skills.
  5. Executive presence
  6. Ability to work effectively with others, accomplishing aggressive goals through others, while motivating others.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  8. Microsoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Word, etc.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; ten years or more of relevant experience in FM – hard and soft services – along with an understanding of related fields like project management.
