Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead their production and warehouse teams. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal customers to meet production targets and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction. As a leader, you'll be instrumental in fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.


Projects You'll Work On:

You’ll oversee the entire production cycle, from raw material conversion to packaging, ensuring minimum waste and labor costs. Key initiatives will include improving operational processes, driving compliance, and building a high-performing team culture. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in quality management, supporting investigations related to product quality and customer complaints. By fostering cross-departmental collaboration and applying continuous improvement methodologies, you’ll lead efforts to drive efficiencies and deliver outstanding results.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Inspire and coach both salaried leaders and hourly employees across multiple shifts, promoting ongoing learning and development.
  • Operational Excellence: Direct daily operations for converting raw materials into finished products, ensuring efficiency and cost control.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Champion new ideas and approaches, encouraging your team to find creative solutions to operational challenges.
  • Production Planning: Set production priorities and guide the supply chain team on weekly and daily production plans.
  • Warehouse Operations: Work closely with the warehouse team to optimize and sustain inventory and distribution processes.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee complaints, conduct investigations, and provide coaching or disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze production and operational reports, resolving issues to minimize expenses and avoid delays.
  • People Development: Train and develop employees, identifying future leaders and making sound decisions in recruitment and promotion.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate across departments to drive shared goals and initiatives.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead safety initiatives, promoting a zero-risk mindset among team members regarding safety, quality, and waste.
  • Quality Management: Support quality investigations, resolve customer complaints, and address internal quality issues.


What Experience You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility (experience in the food industry is highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with Employment Standards, OSHA, HACCP, BRC, and/or GMPs in food manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and the MS Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with a proven track record of developing talent.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean, CAPA, root cause analysis, and Pareto.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to safety and quality, with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work across shifts as needed.
