The Role


The regional sales manager is the face of JoVE within their regional library community. You will become a passionate advocate for our STEM resources across your sales territory. We are looking for someone dedicated to strong sales growth, with a firm understanding of the library industry.


You will be responsible to craft a territory specific sales strategy and then execute on that plan with the help of dedicated sales support staff, owning the sales cycle from prospecting to closing.


You must be comfortable meeting libraries “in-person” and presenting to faculty, staff and administration at universities and colleges within your region.


Responsibilities


  • Own full sales cycle, from prospecting to close & meet or exceed quarterly sales goals
  • Present the product, in person, to researchers and professors and follow them through product trials
  • Schedule meetings with academic libraries across your assigned territory
  • Analyze trends and make data driven decisions on which institutions to cover closely
  • Generate and execute a strategic plan to drive sales across territory
  • Work alongside management and sales support team members to foster a team selling environment
  • Work effectively with other team members in North America to deliver on sales targets, team projects and various campaigns for the region.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure feedback about products is shared and support is sought where needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales operations activities as required.


Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 5-8 years of field sales experience
  • Library or Publishing sales experience is preferred
  • A drive to succeed and a proven ability to be resilient and overcome challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • A demonstrated passion for science and education , college level coursework in the sciences preferred
  • Confidence in dealing with university academics and librarians
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills
  • Team player, results orientated and excellent people skills
