Manage diverse environmental engineering projects to ensure compliance with regulations and implement strategies for sustainable asset management. Facilitate seamless project direction and effective client communication, contributing to successful outcomes of water infrastructure, contaminated site remediation, and structural design and assessment projects. Oversee subcontractors' work to ensure high-quality workmanship, and adherence to project timelines. Monitor project budgets and schedules, draft detailed daily, weekly, and monthly status reports for tracking, resource allocation, and timely stakeholder communication. Ensure effective cost management, review project changes, make necessary budget adjustments to reflect progress, scope changes and contract compliance. Lead data-driven decision-making for successful project execution. As an ENVSP Professional, lead environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives for Water Infrastructure Projects. Prepare comprehensive permit applications, and impact assessments, to ensure regulatory compliance. Manage project teams for the environmental planning and design of water infrastructure projects. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, providing expertise that aligns with environmental standards and best practices. Prepare design and implement contaminated site remediation plans and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Conduct site investigations, collect, and analyze environmental data, prepare technical reports, design documentation in compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform structural design and assessment of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, demonstrating expertise in various systems and facilities. Prepare engineering calculations for optimal sizing and performance of structures ensuring their safety, functionality, and sustainability. Lead communications among design teams, clients, subconsultants, and facilitate effective resolution of design inquiries. Prepare comprehensive design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for client review, incorporating feedback to deliver high-quality solutions. Provide engineering support during project bid phases and guide the bidding process to produce successful project outcomes. Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe work practices, inspection checklists and forms to assess workplace conditions, equipment, and processes. Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) and detailed Health and Safety Plans for on-site fieldwork. Draft environmental engineering reports, technical, financial documents, water supply permit amendments, to ensure successful funding acquisition. Prepare Drinking Water Source Assessment and Protection Program documents to incorporate new groundwater sources, safe and sustainable water supply development, and regulatory compliance. Execute data-driven analysis using Microsoft Visio to develop and optimize business processes for increased efficiency. Deliver clear and actionable insights from detailed data analysis to clients and stakeholders, driving informed decision-making and business growth. Lead the drafting of technical proposals and fee estimates for asset/utility management, pipeline, storage tanks, and condition assessment projects to align with specific client needs, driving successful project acquisition and client satisfaction. Oversee the preparation and maintenance of project schedules using Microsoft Project. Prepare engineering reports and professional publications focused on water resources development, infrastructure condition assessment, and capital improvement plans. Draft technical memoranda to provide expert recommendations for strategic decision-making and effective facility management of facilities in poor condition. Categorize capital improvement projects based on condition assessment and budget considerations.


Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of professional experience as an Environmental Engineer or in a related occupation(s).

Must possess the following certifications:


  • Envision Sustainability Professional (ENVSP certification)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP certification)


Must have experience with the following:


  • 3 years of experience in the water industry, with a focus on structures (such as water treatment facilities), remediation projects (such as environmental cleanup), environmental compliance with regulatory requirements, EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) practices, and asset management.
  • 3 years of experience in using relevant environmental and engineering software/tools for data analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of using relevant software tools used in the water industry for structural design, drafting and modeling, such as STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, GIS, MicroStation, including computational tools such as Mathcad, Microsoft Excel and Asset management systems such as Microsoft Visio, Power BI.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Hybrid remote-Work only within a specific geographical area - City of Virginia Beach, Virginia and within 40 miles of commuting distance from the company office.


Travel: Limited domestic travel- 10-20% per year
