Senior P&C Substation Engineer

LineWorks Engineering -- is seeking a Senior Substation/P&C Engineer to support our growing Substation team. The Senior Substation/P&C Engineer will have subject matter expert level of knowledge of functional area of work utilizing advanced engineering concepts and excels at client interactions and relationships. This position develops, reviews, and/or prepares reports on complex technical subjects in a manner suitable for presentation. The Senior Substation/P&C Engineer should be able to coordinate the work of other engineers in an efficient and effective manner and will work within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations. This position will be responsible for leading substation engineering project teams, with the development of one-line diagrams for substations, relay one-line diagrams, three lines, schematics and elementaries, control house panel layouts, relay selection, SCADA design, creation of bills of materials, and cable schedules. This position requires at least 6 years of experience in the electric utility industry or utility consulting experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.


Requirements:

- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program

- PE license required (any US state)

-Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the electric utility industry or utility consulting experience is required.

-Working knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles, substation design methods and power system protection, is required.

-Must be computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Electrical. Relay settings and testing software knowledge is preferred.

-Must be capable of effectively coordinating multiple activities associated with the analysis, design, troubleshooting, testing, and assessment of substation facilities/equipment simultaneously.

-Must possess the ability to understand computerized solutions to engineering problems.

-Must have outstanding oral and written communications skills.

-Must be able and willing to self-learn new software applications.

-Must be willing to travel for on-site work responsibilities involving occasional overnight travel to locations for meetings with clients, vendors, and equipment suppliers may be required.

- Valid driver’s license
