With a strong international presence and a commitment to excellence, we are looking for a dynamic and driven Director of Sales to build and grow our Chicago operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to take on a leadership role in a growing market.
Role Overview:
The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading sales efforts, expanding our customer base, and driving revenue growth for our air and ocean freight services in the Chicago region. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the logistics industry and a proven track record in business development. In this role, you will play a key part in building our presence in the Chicago market while working closely with global teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy focused on air and ocean freight services.
- Drive new business development and build strong relationships with clients across diverse industries.
- Lead and manage the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, customer service, etc.) to deliver customized logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
- Build and grow the Chicago branch, identifying opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in the region.
- Provide market insights and competitor analysis to senior leadership to refine and adapt sales strategies.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by delivering superior service and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and its services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 7+ years of sales experience within the freight forwarding industry, with a focus on air and ocean services.
- Proven success in building and growing a sales pipeline and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of the logistics industry, including global trade regulations, supply chain solutions, and market trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives to grow the business.
- Experience working in the Chicago market is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and support sales efforts.
