What you will be doing:

  • Leads all accounting and finance functions for the site
  • A key business advisor to the Business Unit Manager and other senior leaders on operating costs, procedures and business strategies.
  • Prepares monthly/quarterly financial statements including all Corporate Reporting
  • Assists with the preparation of the full year budget and interim forecast updates.
  • Prepares monthly key performance metrics scorecard and leads/facilitates discussions with site leadership and business leadership on results and implications for improvement.
  • Performs monthly cost analysis to provide explanations for current trends, variations, etc.
  • Conducts ad hoc analysis, as needed/requested, on topics such as freight costs, labor rate analysis, etc.
  • Does all Weekly, Monthly and Annual reporting and closings
  • Maintains the General Ledger (effective management of accruals & journal entries)
  • Handles all Bank Account Management & reconciliation
  • Oversees inventory, freight, and cost accounting through monthly reporting & reconciliations
  • Works on Continuous Improvement Projects to increase efficiency and eliminate non-value added work.
  • Oversees Accounts Payable and Cash Management


What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years' experience working in Accounting or Finance Department
  • Experience in advising business leaders on financial results, trends and implications
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping, computer operation and financial modeling
  • Strong understanding of Balance Sheet accounting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership experience and solid critical thinking skills
  • Solid experience working with financial systems/ERP – knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel
