Job Overview:

We are working with a prominent corporate client's legal department, I am seeking a detail-oriented and motivated In-House Legal Assistant/Paralegal with 2-3 years of experience in real estate.


Key Responsibilities:


-Document Preparation and Review:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing real estate contracts, leases, purchase agreements, option agreements, letters of intent to lease or purchase, and closing documents.
  • Prepare and file necessary documents with appropriate government agencies.


- Real Estate Transaction Support:

  • Support real estate transactions including drafting (see above)
  • Review title and title-related issues, including surveys and mineral rights.
  • Assist with property surveys, mineral rights, and environmental reports.
  • Organize and manage due diligence materials and checklists.


-Subsidiary Management:

  • Manage subsidiaries' corporate activities, including formation, maintenance, and dissolution of entities.
  • Prepare LLC agreements, resolutions, and minutes.


- File Management:

  • Maintain and organize client files, both physical and electronic.
  • Ensure all files are up-to-date and properly archived.


- Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Real Estate Attorney, including managing calendars, answering phones, and handling correspondence.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Paralegal certification is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a commercial real estate law setting.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law and legal document preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and using legal databases.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
