Overview & Perks

Compensation: $75,000 salary + full benefits

Length: Direct Hire

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid (one day per week in office)


Responsibilities


  • Develop stellar, brand-aligned content across print, digital, and video that engages donors and supports fundraising efforts, collaborating with designers and videographers to bring stories to life.
  • Ensure content accuracy and excellence by partnering with subject matter experts and providing thoughtful feedback to colleagues.
  • Stay current on United Way's impact strategies and investment priorities to focus communications on areas of greatest need.
  • Dive deep into fundraising practices and donor audiences to create messages that resonate and inspire action.
  • Conduct interviews and consult with internal experts to gather compelling stories and insights.
  • Craft and deploy engaging donor emails through MailChimp, from event invitations to newsletters.
  • Serve as the go-to marketing partner for donor experiences, working closely with fundraisers to ensure seamless communication and impactful events.
  • Provide strategic consultation to fundraisers, leveraging the expertise of the marketing team to elevate their efforts.
  • Keep projects on track by aligning expectations with capacity and ensuring top-notch, timely deliverables.


Qualifications


  • 5+ years of relevant experience; bonus points for corporate, foundation, nonprofit marketing or agency work.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing, communications, journalism, PR, or a related field.
  • Commitment to United Way's mission and values
  • Advanced writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, equitable, and accessible language.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Nimble learner with a knack for absorbing new information and adapting to evolving priorities
  • Passion for DEI and crafting messages that promote equity and inclusion.
