Plant Operations Manager

Amotec is conducting a search for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a multi-billion dollar global manufacturing company located in the Canton, OH area. This key leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Position Overview:

As the Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing manufacturing operations within designated departments. Your primary focus will be on meeting production goals, ensuring product quality, and delivering on-time results while controlling costs. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Human Resources, to drive continuous improvement and enhance operational efficiency through Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant teams in hiring, performance evaluations, and talent development to build and maintain a motivated, high-performing workforce.
  • Oversee production schedules and ensure the effective allocation of materials, manpower, and equipment to meet delivery commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and process control procedures to deliver products that meet customer specifications.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor and manage operational metrics, including cost control, throughput, and work-in-process inventory to meet production targets.
  • Recommend and manage the purchase and installation of new equipment to support expansion, enhance efficiency, and improve quality..
  • Establish and manage departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets while achieving operational goals.

  • Experience with 6S implementation and Lean Manufacturing practices is highly preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with a vision for integrating new technologies into manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on management style with a focus on achieving results through team collaboration.


Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
  • An advanced degree (MS or MBA) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Extensive training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma.
