Job Overview:
Our client, a leading heavy civil and water infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee water and wastewater construction projects in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role involves managing on-site activities to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex water and wastewater projects, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site activities for water and wastewater construction projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, and pump stations.
- Ensure that projects are completed in accordance with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage site logistics, including equipment, materials, and labor resources, to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety on-site.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and addressing any concerns or questions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water and wastewater construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale water/wastewater projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices specific to water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed within the Phoenix area.
