What you will do:


Suitable is looking to hire a Director of Finance & HR to join our rapidly growing team and become the first Operations hire. The candidate should be ready to devote significant time to the planning, execution, and ultimate success of our ongoing operational workstreams, primarily HR and Finance. As the company continues to grow, the candidate will be expected to take on more responsibility and even build out our operations team. Training and support will be provided to make the candidate as successful as possible. We have a well documented onboarding plan and will dedicate plenty of resources to make the candidate successful in their role. Candidates must have a quantitative mindset but also rely on interpersonal skills to accomplish goals. Plus, we are working with a part-time CFO so the candidate will need to manage that relationship to effectively transfer knowledge and drive results.


Who you are:


You have some mid-level HR experience (seeking 3-5 years) with proven financial acumen/expertise. You’re a people-person at heart, always thinking of new and innovative ways to scale teams, build community, and establish a high-performing culture. You enjoy numbers and may have even done some bookkeeping at some point. You hustle for what you want and do whatever it takes to get the job done. You are always learning and continuously seek to improve your talents and master your craft. In addition to the HR/People side, you also have strong math skills. You are able to set up invoicing systems, scale employee onboarding programs, and not be afraid to assert yourself in order to hold others accountable. You can solve complex problems and work well with others. You have an entrepreneurial mentality, looking for a role that can be challenging in a positive way. We’ll evaluate you by 1) Cultural fit 2) Previous successes/contributions, and then 3) formal education.


Responsibilities:

  • Be the company’s first Operations hire and resident HR/Finance-guru.
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive employee onboarding, engagement, and ongoing development program.
  • Implement an HR software/tech stack to streamline compliance, benefits, and payroll.
  • Work with our part-time CFO to learn how to manage our financial operations; including invoicing (Maxio), bookkeeping (Quickbooks), and revenue recognition/projections.
  • Be a Hubspot CRM expert - know how to set up deal pipelines and build sales reports.
  • Ensure our contracts database is clean, updated, and accurate day to day.
  • Own the customer renewal process and accounts receivables.
  • Achieve assigned operating goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Assist with planning our annual user conference.
  • Complete any task that is needed for operating purposes.
  • Create monthly reports on progress, accomplishments, and recommendations.
  • Stay up to date with HR laws/compliance changes and adapt our HR strategy accordingly.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preference for B2B/SaaS companies or startups.
  • Proven financial acumen, ideally with bookkeeping, invoicing, and SaaS metrics.
  • Strong proficiency with Hubspot CRM and creating Sales Funnel/Conversion Reports.
  • Experience with Maxio, Quickbooks Online, and Rippling (or equivalent HR platform).
  • Naturally assertive and able to hold others accountable to process.
  • Takes pride in their written/verbal communication.
  • Loves working in the nitty-gritty and pays close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on a small but highly productive team.
  • Comfortable owning multiple projects or work streams at once.
  • Extremely organized and polished.


Extremely qualified candidates will also have:

  • Experience with EdTech companies or startups.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Experience in performance management.
  • Experience managing an office.
  • An understanding of other aspects of operations.
  • Worked in remote/hybrid professional environments.
