Commercial Sales Representative – Trailers


Job Summary:

The Commercial Sales Representative for trailers is responsible for generating sales and building long-term relationships with clients by offering trailer products that meet their specific needs. The role involves identifying new sales opportunities, managing the sales cycle, and providing exceptional customer service to retain and grow the business. This position may involve working with various types of trailers, including cargo, utility, flatbed, and specialty trailers for commercial use.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Generation:

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and visiting prospective clients.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential customers, showcasing the features and benefits of different trailer models.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales pitches to meet clients' trailer needs.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the trailer products and services.
  • Provide after-sales support and ensure timely resolution of any customer issues.


Product Knowledge:

  • Stay updated on trailer products, features, and market trends to recommend the most appropriate products based on customer needs.
  • Advise customers on trailer specifications, pricing, and financing options.


Sales Administration:

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and transactions in a CRM system.
  • Achieve sales targets and goals as set by management.


Market Analysis:

  • Analyze the market to identify emerging trends and new opportunities in the trailer industry.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and adjust sales strategies as needed.


Skills and Qualifications:


Experience:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the trailer, automotive, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Experience with B2B sales or working with commercial clients is highly desirable.


Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Familiarity with trailers, their components, and industry-specific terms.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.


Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
