SMT Corp., an industry leader in open market DMSMS supply chain solutions for electronic components for the US and EU defense and aerospace industries is seeking a purchasing manager to oversee its US procurement operations.  


Responsibilities:

  •      Create and maintain procurement strategies, and processes
  •      Maintain existing supplier relationships by measure of performance metrics
  •      Identify new supplier prospects, capabilities, and develop sourcing relationships
  •      Manage and develop US based procurement staff
  •      Manage RFQ/RFP process
  •      Pursue RFQ level cost saving opportunities through supplier negotiation
  •      Work with sales representatives to identify solutions for customer requirements
  •      Manage interdepartmental continuity
  •      Support QMR in supplier related processes, and work instructions


Qualifications:

  •     Must have 10 years’ experience sourcing electronic components in the domestic, European, and Asian open markets
  •     Technical working knowledge over a wide variety of active and passive components, including; microprocessor/microcontroller, FPGA, CPLD, semiconductor, RF
  •     Highly effective negotiating skills
  •     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  •     Proficiency in initiating and managing supplier relationships
  •     Managing procurement activities across multiple geographies
  •     Experience working in an ISO quality management system
  •     Proficiency in MS Office/365
