Job Title: Project Manager - Water Main Replacement Project




Project Overview:

THe water main replacement project involves addressing three fresh water line breaks leading into the plant by replacing piping. The project includes replacing sections of the 12" and 8" mains, performing design work, fine-tuning cost estimates, and implementing necessary upgrades such as backflow preventer replacements and booster pump installations.


Scope of Work:


Lining 1200’ of fresh water main from P17 on the east side of the railroad tracks to P9.

Performing all design work for the 12” and 8” main replacements and refining cost estimates.

Performing work at the north end of the 12” main including backflow preventer replacement and booster pump installation.

Replacing the southern end of the 12” main from Foss Park Avenue and constructing an above-ground structure for new backflow preventers.

Replacing the 8” main from Foss Park Avenue as originally planned.

Responsibilities:


Oversee day-to-day operations of the water main replacement project.

Collaborate with Grumman Butkus to evaluate optimal routing and implementation strategies.

Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure minimal redundancy and efficient implementation.

Coordinate with GBA for final design and engineering requirements.

Ensure installation of the new line before taking the old line out of service.

Manage varying hours according to project demands.


Requirements:


Proficiency in piping standards, including carbon steel and PVC.

Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering and project management.

Proficient in developing and managing project schedules.

Previous experience in utility projects is preferred.

Ability to work on-site as needed, with potential for hybrid work arrangements.

Experience collaborating with site engineers and technicians.

Familiarity with evaluating engineering proposals and working with external consultants like GBA.

Note: Pharmaceutical industry experience is not mandatory but considered advantageous.
