Summary:

  • This is a position for an experienced Engineer, with previous experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Management.
  • This position will provide daily Supplier Quality Engineering support for manufacturing operations and global supply chain: minimizing incoming defects, driving process improvements, corrective action implementation, monitoring and reporting performance, and solving critical customer issues. This requires effective technical interactions with suppliers, design, test and manufacturing engineers, and members of the procurement team. Candidates will need a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality concepts.
  • This position will also be responsible for managing changes in the supply chain in a way that minimizes Quality risks and maintains excellent Supplier Quality performance.
  • In this role, you will be able to work with a diverse group of engineers on various products and technologies. You will influence the design of manufacturing processes, supplier selection, and component specifications to meet our customer’s expectations.
  • This position requires on-site presence at least 3 days/week at Manufacturing Site in Beaverton, OR.
  • In addition, travel of up to 15% per year (domestic or international) may be required.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

- Partner with our Contract Manufacturers and members of our Supply Chain team to facilitate new supplier site qualifications, new supplier evaluations, issue management and process development, monitoring and improvement.

- Work with Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering and other functions to resolve problems and drive continuous improvement in internal manufacturing processes and within the company supply chain.

- Collaborate with Product Engineers and Component Engineers to determine critical component qualification requirements and to assess and verify supplier capabilities on New Product Introductions (NPIs)

- Monitor quality performance and report on trends and issues for assigned suppliers. Contribute to supplier scorecards and evaluations.

- Work with manufacturing and supplier representatives to identify root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions throughout the company supply chain.

- Conduct supplier audits as needed to ensure company quality and reliability requirements are satisfied.

- Train and educate suppliers on quality expectations.

- Actively participate in supplier business reviews.


Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • The ability to work in both manufacturing and engineering lab environments and experience in applying industry-standard best practices are a plus.
  • In addition, experience in the following skills areas are desired:

- Ability to analyze, interpret, and translate requirements from data sheets or engineering drawings

- Application of basic Quality Assurance methods and tools, including sampling plans, Statistical Process Control,

-Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus

-Root Cause/ Corrective/Preventive Action methodologies

- Experience in the application of sound engineering principles, lean manufacturing methodologies, and continuous process improvements to the design and manufacture of electronic products

- Ability to work closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain team members.

-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in written form and verbally

- Ability to effectively lead the investigation and resolution of technical issues, both internally and with our supply chain partners.

- Ability to travel to domestic and international locations

- Good time management and planning skills

- Ability to work independently, both remotely, and on-site within distributed teams

- Experience and Familiarity with the ISO9001:2015, AS9100, FDA GMP or other common Quality Standards
