Position Summary

The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to enhance the SALT brand, engage target audiences, and support business objectives. This role involves managing internal and external communications, overseeing content creation, and ensuring consistent messaging across multiple channels. The Communications Manager will collaborate with various departments, including marketing, public relations, and executive leadership, to deliver compelling and cohesive communication strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies across various platforms.
  • Manage SALT’s social media platforms and develop content calendars for the practices.
  • Provide resources and technical support to SALT’s partners as needed.
  • Create engaging content (posts, videos, graphics) that aligns with the SALT brand voice and goals.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement, trends, and opportunities.
  • Monitor and track competitor social media channels.

Internal Communications:

  • Develop internal communication strategies in collaboration with senior leadership to ensure employees are informed and engaged.
  • Create and distribute internal information via the company Intranet.
  • Facilitate communication between different departments / practices within the organization.

Public Relations:

  • Craft press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national journalists, bloggers, health and business publications, and influencers.
  • Monitor media coverage and handle media inquiries.

Content Creation & Management:

  • Manage the organization’s website content ensuring it is up-to-date and aligns with SEO best practices.
  • Write and edit content for various digital platforms, including blogs, email newsletters, and other digital marketing collateral.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a communications capacity.
  • Ability to write press releases and create engaging content for social media, demonstrating proficiency in both formal and conversational writing styles.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies through multiple channels.
  • Must be able to write copy and design posts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and grammar.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with internal stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of communication best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively.


Preferred Requirements

  • Communications experience within a DSO or healthcare environment.
  • Existing media relationships on a local or national level.
  • Basic graphic design skills.
