Research Associate (6-Month Contract // Bridgewater, NJ)


Summary:

We are seeking a candidate to be part of a team focused on non-viral vehicle formulation and characterization in the drug formulation group. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and be engaged in targeted non-viral formulation development and optimization.


Responsibilities:

  • Formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles for platform build and project support
  • Design and execute formulation trials, analytical testing and evaluate stability data to finalize formulation composition for RNA/gene-based therapies
  • Synthesize and develop nanoparticle-based formulations for various therapeutic areas.
  • Characterization of nanoparticle-based formulation with analytical method, bio-assays, molecular biology methods, spectroscopy, etc.
  • Design, synthesis and purification of protein bioconjugates, including monoclonal antibody and peptide bioconjugation, and dye conjugation.
  • Characterization and evaluation of bioconjugates, including physiochemical properties, stability, conjugation efficiency, binding ability, etc.
  • Perform data and statistical analyses using Excel and GraphPad Prism.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed and timely records in electronic notebooks and generate internal technical reports as needed
  • Summarize experimental results and present findings at internal meetings
  • Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Excellent scientific presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills and can work effectively in a team environment.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree plus minimum 6 years or Master degree plus minimum 4 years of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field with a strong background in nanoparticle-based formulation development & analytical characterization.
  • Hands-on experience in nucleic acid drug formulation and development (especially nanoparticle delivery technologies) is required.
  • Experience in the following nanoparticle characterization / purification techniques: DLS, NTA, SDS-PAGE, UV, SEC, HPLC and fluorescence microscopy.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, interpret and present experimental results.
  • Experience with bioconjugate and targeted delivery desirable
  • Experience in data processing, analysis, statistics, and data interpretation is required
  • Detailed-oriented, meticulous, have sense of urgency, high level of motivation, and research-orientated are required qualities
  • High degree of organization and time management is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a team spirit are required
  • Demonstrates an insatiable curiosity, strong work ethic, has the eagerness to rise to challenges and ability to work equally well independently or in a team are key qualities
