We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control and Product Development Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of quality and product development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for conducting rigorous quality control tests, supporting innovative product development, maintaining ISO compliance, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a quality control or product development role within the plastics or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards, particularly in relation to quality management systems in the plastics and medical device industries.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as blending machines, twin screw extrusion compounders, and injection molders.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices and process improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve product development and quality issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control & Testing: Conduct comprehensive quality control tests on raw materials and finished products, documenting results and ensuring product quality aligns with both company standards and client expectations.
  • Sample Preparation & Production: Prepare and produce samples for new product development using advanced equipment such as blending machines, twin screw extrusion compounders, and injection molders.
  • Product Troubleshooting & Improvement: Actively troubleshoot product development issues, working closely with the R&D team to resolve quality concerns and optimize production processes.
  • Lab Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment that adheres to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Color Matching & Analysis: Perform precise color analysis and matching for plastic products, ensuring that all color requirements meet client specifications.
  • Client Communication: Engage directly with clients to understand their color requirements and provide technical support during the development process.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, contributing ideas to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall safety.
  • ISO Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards, maintaining consistent product quality and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in both general plastics and medical device manufacturing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and sales, to drive product innovations and ensure seamless execution of new product launches.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all quality control tests, production processes, and product specifications, ensuring transparency and traceability.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced color-matching technologies and software.
  • Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment, specifically with compounding and extrusion processes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
