Research and Development Laboratory Technician

The R&D Lab Technician will conduct quality control tests, prepare and produce samples for new product development, and troubleshoot product development issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, material science, or plastics engineering, and at least 1 year of experience in a polymer compounding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control tests on raw materials and finished products, maintaining detailed records.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
- Prepare and produce samples for new product development using equipment like blending machines, twin screw extrusion compounders, and injection molders.
- Troubleshoot product development issues and resolve quality concerns.
- Provide input during meetings, including communication, safety, and production discussions.
- Participate in lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 standards to ensure product consistency and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Perform color analysis and matching for plastic products, ensuring alignment with client specifications.
- Prepare and test color samples by blending pigments and additives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Communicate with clients about color requirements and provide technical support.
- Follow ISO 13485 standards for quality management systems in the medical device industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a polymer compounding environment.
- US Citizen or Green Card holder.
