Location: Southern California (San Diego, Newport Beach preferred; Relocation available)
Reports to: Founding Team
Salary: $150-160K base, OTE $350-500K
Company Overview
Our client is an early-stage, fast-growing company positioned to disrupt a major U.S. financial services market through their innovative SaaS platform. Backed by top-tier investors and an experienced founding team, they are transforming a complex and antiquated industry by introducing a modern, scalable solution. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a dynamic Head of Sales to join the leadership team and help scale the business to $2M ARR and beyond.
Position Overview
As the Head of Sales, you will take ownership of the entire sales process—from personally running demos and closing deals to building and leading a high-performance sales team and culture. You will work closely with the founders to develop and implement sales strategies while remaining hands-on in the trenches with the team. This role is for the proven sales leader with a verifiable track record of driving revenue as a player-coach.
Candidates with early-stage experience, and/or experience bringing SaaS products to market are preferred. This is an opportunity to join a founding team and help shape and scale a category-defining company.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Closing & Leadership: Engage directly with clients, conducting demos, and closing deals. Lead the sales team on tactics and best practices.
- Player-Coach: Actively coach SDRs, lead script reviews, and help refine the sales process.
- Strategy & Operations: Collaborate with the founding team to optimize the sales process and innovate pricing strategies.
- Sales Enablement: Leverage and optimize tools like HubSpot, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to drive team efficiency and success.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the voice of the customer, collaborating with the product and marketing teams to ensure alignment.
- Sales Forecasting: Own the sales forecast and ensure the team is meeting and exceeding ARR targets.
Experience & Skills Required
- Hands-On Sales Leadership: Demonstrated ability to sell while leading a team.
- Sales Operations: Expertise in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales enablement tools.
- SaaS Sales Leadership: Proven experience leading and scaling sales teams in a SaaS environment.
- SaaS Pricing Strategy: Deep understanding of individual and multi-seat SaaS pricing models.
- Early-Stage Experience: Bonus if you have helped bring a SaaS product to market in an early-stage company.

- Familiarity with marketing strategies and tools.
- Experience with CRM and sales enablement platforms such as HubSpot, Apollo, and Slack.
