JOB DESCRIPTION: AV/IT Commissioning & Service Professional


JOB SUMMARY: This is a professional position that is responsible for the commissioning and service of commercial AV systems.


DAILY FUNCTIONS

  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Test point-to-point functionality of systems.
  • Review project Scopes of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of installation.
  • Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron and DSP systems.
  • Field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) – upload and download capability.
  • Write code for DSP systems.
  • Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.
  • Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Configure IP addressable devices to establish communication on a network.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Load and configure AV System software.
  • Train customers on the operation of newly installed AV systems.
  • Perform service and customer support on commercial AV/IT systems.
  • Build and test AV equipment racks.
  • Assist the engineering team in the design of complex installations.
  • Assist on installations as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned from time to time.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

  • Associates degree in electronics or IT preferred.
  • 3 years of directly related experience in performing AV installations, rack building, and system commissioning.
  • Minor programming capability (AMX/Crestron) – changes and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose complex system problems.
  • Knowledge of Advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control.
  • Solid understanding of IP networking.
  • Previous IT Support experience preferred not required.
  • DSP, AVoIP, and Dante experience required.
  • Advanced PC proficiency.
  • Ability to Lead small system installations.
  • Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures.
  • CTS Certification a plus but not required.
  • A “can-do” attitude that performs with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office: Word Excel Etc.
  • Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed.
  • Willingness to regularly travel to clients sites, including occasional out-of-state travel.
  • Strong customer service and communications skills.
  • Able to work independently efficiently.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Credible references check, drug screening, and background check will be conducted.
