Job Title: Drug-Free Communities Project Coordinator (DFCPC)
Reports to: Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI)
Pay Range: $18 - $20 Per Hour
Length of Contract: 1 – 10 Years
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Summary:
The DFCPC will operate within and oversee the Drug-Free Communities work plan implementation. It will develop and implement prescribed youth, teen, and family prevention programs that will be provided both during and after school. The DFCPC will participate in leadership and community engagement activities that will better position Focus on Community and the Coalition for success in prevention practices. It will track and maintain budgetary spending and oversee the collection and appropriate dissemination of program-related data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties listed below describe this position's general nature and level of work. They are not meant to be exhaustive or restrictive.
• Data Collection will be a primary element of this position. The DFCPC will manage the implementation of the Developmental Assets Survey throughout Racine County. This will require building and maintaining good relationships with school districts, key stakeholders, and business professionals. This will also require gathering and compiling survey information, communicating needs, and solving problems that arise throughout the survey implementation.
• Updates and reports. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders and work with the program director to make sure that reports are done regularly and on time?
• Coalition coordination. Must work closely with the manager of the Racine Collaborative for Children's Mental Health coalition to implement and oversee coalition-specific objectives.
• Provide educational information about youth substance use through a variety of sources.
• Enhance skills. Develop, expand, implement, and oversee designated programs that focus on skill development for youth, teens, and adults.
• Provide support to increase opportunities that reduce risk factors or enhance protective factors in youth through youth-planned alternative activities hosted in our community.
• Enhance access, reduce barriers, and improve connections between systems and services that help prevent youth substance use.
• Educating and informing about modifying or changing policies that reduce access and availability to substances among youth.
• Engage Teens. Work with the Teen Peer Coordinator to directly engage teens in the coalition's work and through Drug-Free Communities strategies.
• Perform other duties as requested.
