Director of IT Governance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an IT governance framework that aligns with the bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish, review, and update IT policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., FFIEC, SOX, GDPR, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management and Compliance teams to identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risks. Ensure IT risk management processes are integrated into the bank's overall enterprise risk management framework.
  • Design and implement IT controls that protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of bank data and systems. Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Stay updated with evolving regulations impacting the banking sector and ensure that the bank's IT systems and practices comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management, business units, IT teams, and external regulatory bodies to ensure that governance practices are understood and implemented consistently.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT governance, risk management, or IT auditing, preferably within the financial services or banking industry. Experience in leading governance frameworks, managing compliance with banking regulations, and overseeing IT governance at an enterprise level is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies in the banking sector. Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FFIEC, SOX, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams, steering governance committees, and influencing C-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess complex technical processes and translate them into business impacts and risks. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud computing, data governance, and digital banking solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and governance challenges specific to banking institutions.
