This is a new role for the organization, open due to growth and their constant efforts to evolve If you're looking to use your outstanding communications skills to serve the larger Portland community, this may be a fit. This is a direct hire role with compensation ranging from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, dependent on level of relevant development and communications experience. This is a hybrid role on a flexible schedule in Portland, OR, so only local candidates will be considered at this time. Your duties will include:

  • Serve as the gifts contact for the organization, maintaining diligent records to ensure recognition and acknowledgement for donors of all sizes, and conducting consistent networking and community outreach on behalf of the organization
  • Managing outreach efforts to current and prospective donors including corporations, individuals, foundations and similar, writing, editing and deploying digital and print campaigns and appeals and maintaining consistent communication with the donor base
  • Manage and continue to build the organization's donor and prospective donor database
  • Mitigate the grants process for the organization, writing, editing and optimizing grants proposals, conducting research and streamlining these processes with cross-functional teams
  • Aid in the planning, execution and success of fundraising efforts, supporting logistics, attendee outreach and other efforts to maximize funds raised
  • Support other cross-functional projects for the organization, as needed


We're looking for:

  • 3+ years of development and fundraising experience in the Non-Profit world
  • Excellent written communications skills with a foundation in writing, communications or similar functions
  • Strong technical aptitude with CRM and fundraising software experience (Raiser's Edge, preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, highly preferred (but flexible for the right fit)
  • A knack for networking and a deep passion for the Portland community
