Role Overview

As the Head of Talent at Emily Blair Media, you will play a critical role in shaping the success of our clients' talent publicity efforts and managing the public relations strategy. You will be responsible for managing and growing both the talent and PR divisions, developing strategic campaigns, and leading the team to achieve outstanding results. Please note- we are open to this candidate being located in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of PR and talent publicity professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and high performance.
  • Manage daily workflows, ensuring that team members are staying on schedule and completing assigned tasks. 
  • Create strategies that align with both media and non-media goals, effectively communicating instructions and expectations to the team.
  • Motivate and empower team members, setting clear goals and developing team-building exercises to enhance collaboration and productivity.
  • Conduct performance reviews for team members quarterly, providing feedback and creating growth paths tailored to individual strengths and company needs.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with team members, ensuring alignment with the overall company strategy. 
  • Assist the Brand department as needed, demonstrating flexibility with evolving tasks across the LA, NYC, and UK offices.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including accurate timekeeping and legal break periods.
  • Create an environment where team members can flourish, with clear expectations and opportunities for professional development.
  • Implement networking opportunities with local media to amplify EBM’s presence.


Talent PR Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive talent PR strategies for clients, aligning with their goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of integrated campaigns to boost their recognition and reputation.
  • Organize events such as press tours and conferences, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with the client's brand image.
  • Craft and execute external communication campaigns, including public, press, and media relations.
  • Collaborate closely with the UK office and brand team to maximize cross-office synergies, ensuring all clients receive optimal exposure.
  • Work with your team to establish a seamless pipeline for opportunities, ensuring that team members are equipped to handle tasks independently if needed.


Client Retention & Acquisition:

  • Ensure client satisfaction by creating an environment where talent clients thrive and are eager to continue working with EBM.
  • Track client retention metrics and provide regular progress updates to the leadership team.
  • Seek and sign PR clients, elevating their presence through strategic communication campaigns.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key talent PR clients, maintaining strong and enduring relationships.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, providing strategic counsel and delivering exceptional service.
  • Participate in onboarding calls/meetings and ensure consistent client engagement through regular wrap reports and check-ins.
  • Oversee all talent and PR accounts, ensuring consistent progress and successful outcomes. Should an account executive leave, you will be responsible for managing their accounts until the position is filled.


Campaign Development:

  • Conceptualize and execute innovative PR campaigns that generate media coverage and public interest.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.


Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts and outlets, securing high-impact media placements for clients.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Monitor campaign performance, providing regular reporting to clients and refining strategies based on data and feedback.


Industry Knowledge:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies, suggesting innovative approaches to keep EBM and its clients at the forefront of the industry.


Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of entertainment PR experience, preferably in an agency setting, with a proven track record in managing client accounts.
  • Previous experience managing at least 2+ direct reports.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Success in developing and executing strategies, setting and achieving goals. 
  • In-depth knowledge of media, including digital and social platforms.
  • Innovative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and skilled in media relations across various sectors. 
  • Strong network with celebrities, VIPS, influencers, and industry professionalsa
