The Revenue Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and recording invoicing activity in accordance with established company practices and timelines.


Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Review insurance documents and enter agency bill transactions into agency management system.
  • Maintain customer set-up in agency management system.
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
  • Collaborate with client teams and insurance carriers to resolve transaction errors.
  • Assists with day-to-day accounting functions with client teams.
  • Responsible for first outreach regarding past due/bad debt collections.
  • Research and correct errors involving posting of misapplied/unapplied funds.
  • Build courteous and successful relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Develop and maintain efficient practices.
  • Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office.
  • Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education.
  • Cross-trained in accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations, illness, or any other absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required

  • High School Diploma and/or GED with 2 to 3 years' experience directly related to the duties listed above.
  • Experience in general accounting.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Candidate must be self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Consistent, reliable, attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • This position will include job duties that require risk designations for access to Electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of their job responsibilities.
Preferred

  • Associate degree in a business or financial related discipline
  • Five years accounting experience
  • Experience with Agency Management Financial Reporting System (AMS 360 Voyager)
