Since 1979, weve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers.

We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

The People Operations Specialist II is charged with coordinating all aspects of the payroll process from tracking employee time, through issuing paychecks and including compliance, reporting, and data maintenance.

The individual in this role is high energy, detail oriented, a strong communicator, a problem solver, and a multitasker who is eager to provide a personalized employee experience as part of every interaction.

The People Operations Specialist II must understand and apply regulatory requirements that effect payroll, serve as the subject matter expert and the chief troubleshooter on payroll and time and attendance systems and processes, and be a master recordkeeper.

The individual in the role will also support key functional processes such as Benefits Administration, Recruiting, and employee on and off boarding.

Strong excel skills, organizational skills and strong detail orientation are a must in this role.

The People Operations Specialist II is part of the People Experience team and will play an important role in driving culture and enhancing the employee experience.


What Youll Do:
Coordinates Payroll ProcessVerify timesheets, attendance records, and other payroll-related data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Input and maintain employee information, such as salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholding, in payroll systems.
Calculate wages, overtime, and benefits based on hours worked, company policies, and legal requirements.
Coordinate with payroll service providers or software vendors to troubleshoot payroll issues, resolve discrepancies, and implement payroll updates.

Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements to ensure payroll accuracy and legal compliance.

Assist employees with payroll inquiries, provide information on pay policies, deductions, and benefits, and address payroll-related concerns or discrepancies.
Generate and distribute payroll reports, pay stubs, and tax forms to employees, managers, and stakeholders as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and sensitive employee information, adhering to privacy policies and security protocols.
Project CoordinationSupports employees in the on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
Coordinate with People Operations Team to support open enrollment, benefit renewals, retirement plan meetings, and the like.
Support the recruiting process as needed.
Document project documentation, reports, and post-project evaluations, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
Data and AdministrationUpdate and maintain Employee databases, systems, and records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.

Input and update employee information, including personal details, employment history, benefits enrollment, and performance evaluations, in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).Executes regular and ad hoc reporting, reconciliations, audits, etc.

Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Respond to queries raised by external auditors / vendors as needed.
