At Leidos National Security Sector, we are on the lookout for a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) Security Engineer holding an active Secret clearance and direct Validator expertise utilizing eMASS. The role entails working on-site at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA (NSWCDD). Your responsibilities will include providing Validation Services and Sustainment Support for Systems/Networks RMF security authorization packages, along with offering RMF ATO maintenance for Information Systems crucial for NSWCDD and SWCDD Dam Neck Activity (DNA) to meet mission and operational goals. You'll also oversee the RMF process, Platform Information Technology Certification services, and other A&A processes linked to validating and maintaining the cybersecurity authorization packages, each representing a system or network requiring authorization to operate in support of the NSWCDD mission.

Main Duties

  • Evaluate and record risks, conduct security control assessments, and note compliant and failed security controls in eMASS.
  • Suggest corrections to eMASS records.
  • Assist with eMASS data input criteria and population.
  • Compile a Security Assessment Report jointly with the SCA, according to assessment findings.
  • Draft the SAR Executive Summary, incorporating all assessment outcomes, for SCAL assessment.
  • Conduct a Risk Assessment of security controls, known threats, and vulnerabilities in systems or networks.
  • Aid in updating the POA&M based on the assessment findings.
  • Ensure traceability of vulnerabilities from initial assessment findings to the POA&M.
  • Support the continuous monitoring program.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with over 8 years of experience in DoD Security Control assessments and DIACAP/RMF; extra experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Current DoD Secret clearance.
  • Active Navy Qualified Validator certification or the ability to acquire it within 6 months from the start date.
  • IAM II Certification (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO).
  • Proficiency in configuring and running ACAS/Nessus, and other vulnerability scans.
  • Familiarity with all stages of eMASS.
