This role involves supervising daily operations and staff in the Metals Section of the laboratory.

Summary

From setting staff goals to ensuring compliance, this position handles vital responsibilities for the laboratory's smooth functioning.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee laboratory operations and staff
  • Manage analytical instrumentation for the section
  • Perform data analysis for planning improvements
  • Support audits of critical systems
  • Develop standard operating procedures
  • Enforce compliance with regulations
  • Participate in research projects and implement new methods
  • Act as a subject matter expert to clients
  • Assist in budget preparation and administration

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Software
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate effectively
  • Manage change and develop employee talents
  • Follow regulations and supervise employees

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of NIMS/ICS 300 and 400
  • Relevant certifications in wastewater laboratory analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field
  • Five years of related work experience including supervision
