Position Overview:
Our client, a prominent healthcare organization, is seeking a qualified Histology Supervisor to oversee laboratory operations.
Work Schedule:
This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical functions of the designated laboratory section.
- Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the Lab Director/Manager and supervise the assigned clinical area.
- Manage quality, efficiency, and safety protocols to meet CAP standards consistently.
Communication:
- Report any deficiencies, progress on test development, and unusual occurrences to leadership.
Problem Solving:
- Proactively track and resolve issues, ensuring the accuracy of test methods and instruments.
Report Review:
- Examine laboratory reports for exceptional results and clerical errors prior to documentation.
Resource Management:
- Maintain adequate supplies and participate in cost analysis for current and future tests.
Training and Delegation:
- Complete orientation and training for the section.
- Assign schedules and evaluate workloads as necessary.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Timeliness:
- Ensure timely completion and reporting of assigned tasks by section members.
Technical Support:
- Assist with laboratory workload as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with certification in MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or HTL (ASCP) or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the relevant laboratory section required.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
