ABC50 is DOWNTOWN, LIVING LOCAL, and HIRING ABC50 has an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer.
The Chief Engineer manages all aspects of the Engineering Department, to include the information technology system, as well as oversees the day-to-day operations, and is responsible for the maintenance of all broadcast technology and equipment at the station.
This person also ensures station compliance with FCC, local, state, and federal rules and regulations applicable to the station.The Chief Engineer also works with corporate leadership to develop and implement new technologies and technical infrastructure as well as managing engineering and technology capital projects to budget.

Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics and editing systems, digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment is required.
Significant experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and information technology systems is also required. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment.Requirements & Skills:
Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Minimum five years' experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment.
Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
Ability to occasionally identify the needs of other departments, help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Able to recognize and follow wiring diagrams.
Proficiency with computers, VOIP telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems.
Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment.
Significant experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and information technology systems.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
