Your Future in this Role:


You will receive training and gain experience including building trades knowledge, safety procedures, building orientation, computer applications, and much more to help you become an experienced well-rounded facilities professional.

This position works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday day shift with occasional evening and weekend work.

Core Daily Responsibilities:


Supervise and coordinate the workload of a facilities maintenance team staffed with mechanics, technicians and workers performing day to day maintenance and repairs of facilities.

Review and assign work; monitor and inspect work and responds to tenant requests regarding operations and services.
Provide consultation to tenants on project request and coordinate and/or lead minor construction projects.
Respond to urgent building issues such as: loss of power, system failure of pumps/motors and building security controls systems.
Coordinate scheduling of specialists and contractors with other facilities management supervisors to meet unit work priorities.

Manage coordination with Corrections staff to ensure their priorities are addressed for day to day operations support and special projects.

What We Do

The Maintenance and Operations Division:


Manage daily operations such as building cleaning, grounds maintenance and a highly responsive and capable staff of building maintenance professionals performing repairs and monitoring building systems.

Manage preventative maintenance programs for major equipment and building components of facilities.
Perform renovations and equipment replacements which result in increased safety, security, efficiency and improved productivity for our tenants.
Provide assistance and consulting services to building tenants for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, remodeling and other tasks.
Ensure buildings meet safety, fire and disability code requirements.

RECRUITING REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Recruiting Requirements to Apply:


Three years of journey-level work experience in one or more of the building, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, construction, or related trade areas is required; must be able to provide adequate documentation of such.

Experience supervising and/or leading staff required.
Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.

Certain positions in this class may be required to possess or have the ability to obtain licenses required by state, local, or federal code or regulations including but not limited to ELO1 electrician's license, Class III boiler operator's license and state asbestos supervisor certification.

Employees may be subject to 24-hour on-call availability. Employees may work varied shifts.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Washington State Driver's license. Satisfactory physical condition is required as indicated by a County-approved physical examination.
Ability to successfully complete all required background investigations including fingerprinting.
