Fieldwork Supervisor, Elementary Education, 2024-25

About the position:
The Brandeis Teacher Education Program seeks a part-time teacher educator to supervise undergraduate student-teachers in elementary school settings during their early fieldwork experiences in fall (i.e., 'pre-practicum') and during the final phase of the licensure process (i.e., 'full practicum') in the spring.
Fall Semester Pre-Practicum Responsibilities- Secure appropriate classroom placements for 10-20 elementary student-teachers- Maintain communication with host teachers in the field and with student-teachers- Oversee students' work (e.g., reflection logs) and professionalism as- outlined here.
Spring Semester Full Practicum Responsibilities- the guidelines here
- Qualifications:
- Masters or doctorate in Education
- Deep knowledge of pedagogies to support teacher learning (e.g., practicebased teacher education).
- Facility with current scholarship and practices in teacher education.
- Strong communication and organization skills and ability to work collaboratively with k12 school and university faculty.
