Our Italian restaurant is a celebrated spot located in the heart of SOHO in New York City. Vic's offers traditional Italian flavors with contemporary techniques, using fresh local and imported ingredients.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Head Chef to lead the culinary team at our Italian Restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine and a creative approach to menu development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Development: Create innovative menus that reflect the richness of Italian cuisine.

  • Quality Control: Ensure dishes meet high standards of taste and presentation.

  • Ingredient Sourcing: Establish relationships with suppliers for the finest ingredients.

Kitchen Management
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff.

  • Scheduling: Oversee staff schedules for efficient operation.

  • Health & Safety: Ensure kitchen compliance with regulations.

Financial Management
  • Budgeting: Manage food costs and labor expenses within budget.

  • Inventory Control: Oversee ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.

  • Cost Control: Implement measures for cost control without compromising quality.

Customer Experience
  • Guest Satisfaction: Work with the front-of-house team for a superior dining experience.

  • Feedback Management: Actively respond to guest feedback for improvements.

Innovation and Trends
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated and incorporate new techniques into the menu.

  • Special Events: Plan and execute events to enhance the restaurant's profile.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as Head Chef in an upscale Italian restaurant.
