Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of MBAM at McCormack Baron Salazar will oversee a portfolio of developed affordable housing properties and report directly to the President. In this role, you will have two primary responsibilities:
- Provide Asset Management Services for the Properties, including evaluating operating performance, conducting site inspections, managing cash flow, and developing strategies for acquisition, refinance, and disposition.
- Perform General Partner Functions by actively engaging with property management, various departments, lenders, and regulators to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The main goal of this position is to serve as the Owner's representative in project operations and mitigate any potential risks affecting the Owner and investors. Responsibilities include:
- Interacting with State Housing Finance Agencies, Housing Authorities, and other relevant entities
- Engaging with Management Companies, Investors, Trustees, Lenders, and Government bodies
Operations
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of the property portfolio
- Participating in portfolio strategy and Capital Projects
- Reviewing financial statements and operational performance for improvement opportunities
- Conducting property inspections and overseeing budget approvals
- Monitoring compliance and addressing any issues promptly
Legal
- Handling legal documents on behalf of Ownership
- Managing tax-related matters and agreements
New Construction / Lease-Up
- Collaborating with development teams and investors during construction and lease-up phases
- Ensuring compliance and delivering necessary information to investors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
- Experience with Section 42 and housing finance
- Prior asset management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and financial analysis
- Ability to interpret legal documents and possess excellent communication skills
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- This role is primarily home-based and requires standard office equipment
- Physical demands include sitting, bending, and standing as needed
