Lead Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond quickly to developments in privacy and privacyadjacent global laws(i.e., new laws, regulations, important judgments, regulatory guidance, etc.)
- Collaborate with other lawyers and product/engineering teams to help guide privacyforward product development
- Drive highprofile and highimpact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with crossfunctional stakeholders across Meta's business, product, policy, legal, privacy, communications, security, and other departments
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar
- 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or inhouse or government experience
- Proven experience advising on the practical impact of privacy laws, regulations, enforcement actions or industry guidelines
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inhouse experience as applicable, in privacy, litigation, regulatory, or product counseling, particularly at a technology, social media or communications / messaging company
- Experience advancing projects in a multistakeholder environment
- Experience explaining complex topics, and gaining support and consensus from multiple stakeholders
- Experience responding to regulatory inquiries
